Yandex Disk Backup Linux Cloud Server - VPS Server

The client via Yandex Disk for Linux terminal allows you to manage files in the cloud without using a graphical interface.The advantages of the client via terminal compared to the graphical interface are:
- low system resource requirements;
- fast reading and writing of files;
- faster synchronization with the server in Cloud; and
- you do not need to be connected to the internet to manage your files.
The client can be installed via the terminal in the following operating systems:
- Ubuntu Linux 8.04 or higher
- Debian 5 or higher
- Fedora 9 or higher
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6+
- CentOS 6+
- Installing the client
- To install the client automatically, use the command to install the quick package.

Yandex Disk Configuration Wizard
You can run the client installation by using the command setup.
- Yandex disk $ configuration
Enter the name of the directory where a local copy of your cloud disk will be stored. If you leave the name blank, a folder with the name Yandex Disk will be created in your home directory. Answer the questions as you need them and login data:
- You want to use a proxy server (y / n). Default No: n
- You want the client to start together with the system (y / n). Default Yes: s
- Enter your Yandex username.
- Enter your Yandex password.
Attention! If you use two-factor authentication to enter the "Yandex Disk", you will need a one-time password, which is generated by the "Yandex.Key" application.
After the wizard completes, the config.cfg configuration file will be created in the ~ / .config / yandex-disk directory.
Conclusion
After all the process, I stopped having problems with the synchronization of the backups in my Linux Cloud server, because I direct my regular backups (database, configurations and pages) to the synchronized folder of Yandex, that synchronizes whenever it detects that a file has been modified (another advantage is that even overwriting its backup in the folder it is only synchronized if changes are detected). So, as I have the client installed on my Windows PC, I am always with the backups at hand, in addition to the mobile application that allows me to accompany them and download them (if necessary).
